Amsterdam | Exploring a Riverside Michelin Restaurant on a Rainy Day

Had lunch on a rainy Friday After wandering around for two weeks, I tried a 4-course lunch 🤩To be frank, the 2-star Ann de Poel gets a 0 in the creativity department The lunch menu is a very standard Western meal A layout: Amuse-bouche, bread, a white meat (red mullet), a red meat (venison), and a dessert (raspberries and cream) 🤩The reason for getting 2 stars is probably that such a classic menu, the team has done meticulously, every side dish and sauce are thoughtfully executed. The venison in summer is particularly lean, with a protein content of 30% and fat as low as 3%, yet it can be made tender and delicate, with a meaty aroma that is not muttony, greasy, or woody, indicating that the chef's skills are very much online. I'm too embarrassed to record this in my face! 🤩By the way, on the day of the meal, I found that everyone was dressed up. Maybe it's Friday, most of the guests are men in suits talking business. In this 15-degree summer with misty rain, the vest and shorts I brought were completely useless, so I had to wear the Scotch & Soda suit coat I just bought in the summer sale to explore the restaurant. #Food #FoodDiary #Michelin #MichelinRestaurantExploration#Netherlands #Amsterdam #Exploration #IAmAFoodMap
