Amsterdam | My New Go-To Izakaya đ
Iâve been eyeing this place for ages! A client mentioned it a long time ago, but every time I walked by, it was always quiet, so I thought it might not be good. Last week, on a rainy day in the Netherlands, I finally went! Overall, Iâd give it âď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸ 4 starsâwhich is high for me! Let me explain why. First off! The place is quiet and doesnât require a reservation (even on a Friday night, it wasnât full), so the atmosphere is relaxed and the decor has that nostalgic Japanese vibe. Perfect for hanging out with friends! We stayed for about two or three hours, and throughout the night, weâd see a few Japanese salarymen come in to dine solo, and just a couple of other small tables. Really, itâs super peaceful. đ¸ Next, the menu offers a wide varietyâfrom meat to fish to veggies, with all the classic izakaya dishes. This is a big plus for me! Lots of places try fusion dishes (which can be good), but sometimes, I just want the simple, traditional dishes. đ˘ Iâve always thought that the simpler the dish, the more it shows the chefâs skill. We ordered around 6 or 7 dishes, and every single one was tastyâno duds at all (though the fried chicken was a bit pale!). And!! With all that food and drinks, it was just over 50 euros per person. For the Netherlands, I think thatâs excellent value! The one star I didnât give was only because there was no âwowâ moment. The flavors didnât surprise me, but for everyday Japanese food, itâs more than enough! #FoodieFinds #Netherlands #Amsterdam #EatAndExplore #100PlacesChallenge #WhatToEatToday #AmsterdamEats
