An Airy Restaurant with a Fascinating Menu – A Hidden Gem in Lambeth!
Nestled beside the historic Lambeth Palace, this bright and beautifully airy restaurant is housed within a converted church that now serves as the Garden Museum. The space itself is a stunning blend of heritage and modernity—high ceilings, soft natural light, and a serene atmosphere that makes every meal feel special. The menu is just as captivating as the setting, with a strong and creative focus on vegetarian offerings that are both fresh and full of flavor. We indulged in: Focaccia – warm, fluffy, and perfectly seasoned 🫓 Squid Salad – tender, zesty, and beautifully presented 🥗🦑 Roasted Brown Crab – rich, savory, and delightfully textured 🦀 And finished with a tangy-sweet Gooseberry Jam that tied everything together 🍓 The restaurant was clearly popular and busy—I was so glad we’d made a reservation! Though the staff were mostly friendly and service was smooth, it’s definitely wise to book ahead to secure your spot. You can choose to dine outdoors at the entrance or in the peaceful courtyard, where you’ll find the resting place of John Tradescant—England’s first great gardener and plant hunter. 🌸🪴 I’ll be honest—I’m not much of a gardener myself, but I was pleasantly surprised by how engaging and thoughtfully curated the museum was. It’s well worth a visit, whether you're a green thumb or just curious! A truly unique spot where history, horticulture, and heavenly food come together. Don’t miss it! #GardenMuseumCafe #LambethEats #VegetarianMenu #HistoricSetting #JohnTradescant
