An Off-the-Beaten-Path European Travel Destination—Slovakia 🇸🇰
From Prague by Train via Slovakia 🇸🇰, Planning a Two-Day Stay in Bratislava, the Capital of Slovakia 🇸🇰. If your schedule permits, it's worth a visit. This small international city and capital can be comfortably explored in one to two days. First Stop: Hrad Devin (Devin Castle) This is Slovakia's oldest castle. Head straight to the hill and purchase a ticket to enter. The higher you climb, the better the view of the entire town. You can also see the Danube River flowing past the castle, which is truly picturesque. City Center Exploration Next, head to the city center to enjoy a stunning palace-style afternoon tea. Many people gather outside, but entry requires a minimum spend of 12 euros per person. Considering the cost of a cake and a pot of tea, it's likely to exceed this amount. The setting is beautiful, and the desserts are delicious. Blue Church ⛪️ This famous attraction opens at 5 p.m. When we arrived, it coincided with the time for worship and prayer. We quietly entered the church and stood for a while. The decorations are unique, not overly opulent but very beautiful. Back to the Main Square for Ice Cream Head back to the main square to try the famous ice cream shop. It's a must-try, with everyone getting a cone. It's highly recommended.👍 Day Two: Bratislava Castle Purchase a ticket to enter, but there isn't much to see inside. The castle's rear garden is very beautiful, and the view of the Danube River and the surrounding scenery from the castle is stunning. The castle has a fairytale-like color scheme.🥰 Local Slovak Cuisine Try a local Slovak restaurant with a 5-star rating. Enjoy roasted pork ribs, cheese pasta, grilled chicken wings, beef soup, and of course, beer.😄 It's worth a try.😋 Tips: - Although it's a small country, keep an eye on your belongings. While waiting for the train at the station, a man of Middle Eastern appearance wearing a hat asked if I spoke English. I didn't respond, and he began to tell me his sad story. I suspected he was asking for money. I pretended not to understand and shook my head. When I turned around, his accomplice, a woman, was already eyeing my bag and luggage. She quickly left when she saw me looking back.🧐 While it's not certain if they were a gang, it's best not to trust strangers easily and to keep your belongings secure. Remember to stay vigilant.❤️ #Slovakia #EuropeanTravel #OffTheBeatenPath #HiddenGems #Travel #Trip
