Andouille Gumbo – I'm Finishing It All! You Do You 🤤
This is one of Seattle's top New Orleans-style restaurants, specializing in Cajun Creole cuisine. The menu has tons of options—all kinds of Gumbo, Po'boys, and more! 🍛🥪 Since Louisiana was once French territory, the food culture blends French, African, and South American influences, making it truly unique. It’s honestly the only American regional cuisine I feel I could eat again and again! 🇺🇸👨🍳 The Restaurant Week lunch menu is a great deal—some single entrees usually cost over $20, but here you get a full lunch for an amazing price. The portions are just right, too! 👌 The restaurant itself is a historic gem with vintage decor and beautiful light streaming through the big windows. ☀️🪟 🥘 Fried Chicken and Andouille Gumbo Tastes exactly like the gumbo I had in New Orleans! The fried chicken on top is crispy and savory, and dipping it into the rich andouille sausage-and-okra stew is just… wow! 🤯 The broth is spiced perfectly—a little spicy, loaded with veggies and flavor. It’s meant to be an appetizer, but the portion is generous. Pro tip: save some room for the other dishes… but it’s so good, that’s hard to do! 🍗🔥 🥗 Full Market Salad The mustard-based dressing is tasty, and the golden beets and artichoke hearts are the stars of the bowl. A solid choice if you’re into salads, though not a total game-changer. 🥬💛 🍝🍤 Jumbo Prawn Linguine This dish was a delicious surprise! It feels French in technique, but the red basil gives it a Southeast Asian twist, while the pasta and oil-cured tomatoes bring Italian vibes. A truly global fusion! 🌍👨🍳 I hadn’t tried some of the herbs before, but together they made this shrimp pasta unforgettable. A must-order! 🙌 🍛 Big Easy Jambalaya “Big Easy” is a nickname for New Orleans, and this dish totally lives up to the laid-back vibe. It’s a hearty mix of marinated chicken, smoked sausage, shrimp, rice, and veggies, all slowly cooked with bold seasonings in a little iron pot. It reminded me of Spanish paella—but cozier and less fussy. So flavorful and lightly spicy! ❤️🌶️ I really wanted to try the beignets or bread pudding for dessert (both are classics!), but I was honestly too full after that incredible gumbo. Next time for sure! 😅 If you haven’t been to this iconic spot yet—what are you waiting for? Run, don’t walk! 🏃♀️💨 📍 Toulouse Petit 601 Queen Anne Ave N, Seattle, WA 98109 Have you tried New Orleans-style food outside of NOLA? What’s your favorite Cajun-Creole dish?
