Another capital on the banks of the Danube

**Bratislava, the capital and largest city of Slovakia, borders Austria and Hungary. It is the only capital in the world that connects with two neighboring countries. Just an hour's drive from Vienna, it's a great place to visit when traveling to Vienna!** **Old Town of Bratislava**😀😀😀 The old town gives off a vibe of well-maintained, clean, and almost new-looking ancient buildings. It feels like they are regularly maintained. The city is also quite tourist-friendly with clear signage and even free public restrooms. Outside the old town, there are many modern high-rise buildings. When I first stepped out of the bus station, it didn't feel very European.😝 **Currency 💰 Euro** **Getting to the Old Town from the Airport** - Take bus number 61 to Trnavské myto. - Transfer to Tram 9 and get off at Poštová. - Purchase a Zone 3, 60-minute ticket for €1.41. **Getting Around the City**😁😁😁 - Walking is generally sufficient within the city center. - If you need public transportation, there are buses and trams. - For the old town area, a Zone 2, 30-minute ticket costs €0.97. **Sights to See** - **Danube River South Bank** - **Church of St. Elizabeth (Blue Church)**: It has a powdery blue color that looks quite dreamy. - **Main Square**: Features the Old Town Hall, Roland Fountain, and the Napoleonic soldier statue. - **Michael's Gate (Michalská brána)**: Undergoing repairs when I visited.🥲 - **Church of the Holy Trinity (Farský kostol sv. Jána z Mathy)** - **St. Martin's Cathedral (Dóm sv. Martina)** - **Bratislava Castle (Bratislavský hrad)**: Free to enter the castle, but you need to pay to visit the museum. **Walking Map** - Danube River South Bank ➡️ Church of St. Elizabeth ➡️ Main Square, Bratislava Old Town Hall ➡️ Michael's Gate ➡️ Church of the Holy Trinity ➡️ St. Martin's Cathedral ➡️ Bratislava Castle Accommodation - I recommend staying near the Main Square. It's a short walk to all the attractions. #Europe #EuropeanTravel #TravelTips #Slovakia #SlovakiaTravel
