Antwerp - The Diamond Capital π
Antwerp is truly a delightful city to explore! ποΈ Antwerp is located in the northwest of Belgium, a port city on the Scheldt River. If you depart from Brussels Central Station, it takes only 50 minutes by train to reach Antwerp Central. Anyone under 26 years old can purchase a youth ticket for a round trip for just 15 euros. You can also download the SNCB app to make the purchase. (Youth tickets are available for train travel throughout Belgium, which is very friendly!) etrainAntwerpen-Centraal Upon arriving at the train station, I was simply astonished. It is indeed one of the most beautiful train stations in Europe. I heard that the station has been in use since 1905 and, after more than a century, it remains incredibly exquisite. ποΈ π½οΈ Antwerp's Chinatown Missing home-cooked meals, we chose the restaurant for lunch. The authentic Hong Kong flavors were delicious, and the owner is from Hong Kong. We ordered double pork roast, chicken silk noodles, and shrimp cheong fun. It was so fragrant and delicious, and the price was very reasonable. Two of us spent less than 40 euros. π² βͺ Grand Place In the afternoon, we visited the Antwerp Grand Place, where the Brabo Fountain, the Church of Our Lady, and the City Hall are located. The architecture is in the 16th-century Baroque style. In the evening, the sunset reflecting on the church was truly beautiful and peaceful. π βͺ Het Steen The castle is located next to the Scheldt River, just a 10-minute walk from the Grand Place. The castle is not large but can be visited for free (we arrived late and it was closed, so we just took some photos outside). π° Vintage Shops Think Twice - A Belgian chain vintage shop. I had a great shopping experience here before in Brussels. The prices are affordable, and the styles are diverse. There was a big sale at the end of September, from September 23rd to October 1st, with everything priced at 3 to 6 euros. Today, on September 28th, everything was 3 euros. I came for the sale, but there were so many people that I couldn't shop for long. However, I managed to get a well-tailored, cool, and cute blazer for 3 euros, and I am very satisfied!! π MELTING POT KILO - This shop sells items by weight, at a very affordable price of 18 euros per kilogram. The variety is quite rich, with autumn, summer, and winter clothes available. However, compared to other vintage shops, the items here are not as delicate and clean. I bought a long scarf and a sweater because the temperature in Belgium drops quickly, and I feel like I need to wear a hat and scarf every day. 𧣠π We returned home with great satisfaction and full of treasures. π #Belgium #Europe #EuropeanTravel #StudyInBelgium #Antwerp #AntwerpTravel #Brussels #VintageShops
