๐๐ธChinese Name: One Bryant Park | Bank of America Tower English Name: Bank of America Tower (One Bryant Park) Location: New York, USA Function: Office, Commercial Height: 365.8m (with a spire of 77.7m) ๐๐ธ Number of Floors: 55 Completion Date: 2009 ๐๐ธ Design Firm: COOKFOX Design Features: โถ๏ธ As the skyscraper rises from the uniform grid of the streets, the concentration of the tower changes, increasing the surface area exposed to daylight. โถ๏ธ Starting from around the 18th floor and extending to the top of the facade, the building's four corners begin to tilt inward toward the core. The tilt is relatively shallow, averaging about seven degrees. Each corner starts tilting from a different floor and at different angles, approximately 20 degrees, making the building's volume appear lighter and more dynamic. ๐๐ธ This feature also improves natural lighting and air quality in the street space below and expands the internal visual axes, which are typically constrained by the typical New York block grid. The varied tilted surfaces and the clear-colored facade make the building look like a giant quartz crystal. โถ๏ธ The resulting angular facets allow for diagonal views into and around the forest of Midtown skyscrapers. On the southeast side, a deep double-layered wall guides the full height of the building toward Bryant Park. ๐๐ธ The tower's faceted glass design features a unique sculptural surface, with sharp folds and precise lines that come alive under sunlight and moonlight at different angles. #Architecture ๐๏ธ #ArchitecturalArt ๐จ #ArchitecturalAesthetics
