Around Boston | Lighthouse Hopping in Portland
š Route Options: Option 1: A) Bud Light House ā B) Spring Point Ledge Lighthouse ā C) Portland Head Light + Lunch (Famous Lobster Roll) ā D) Nubble Lighthouse + Dinner Option 2: D) Nubble Lighthouse first, then A) ā B) ā C) We chose Option 1: visiting the three clustered spots (A, B, C) firstāthis made time management easier, and we saved the last spot (D) for the drive back to Boston. āŖļø Bud Light House You can finish checking in here in 30 minutes. After parking, itās a 10-minute walk to the lighthouseāitās small, but thereās a large grassy area next to it, perfect for walking dogs š¶, flying kites šŖ, or having a picnic š§ŗ. āŖļø Spring Point Ledge Lighthouse To reach the lighthouse at the end, you have to walk across a path of large rocks. The gaps between the rocks are wide, so take your time and watch your step ā ļø! The view of the lighthouse standing by the sea is totally worth the careful walk, though. āŖļø Portland Head Light Plan 1.5 hours here for lunch + exploring the lighthouse! The most popular lobster roll food truck is right hereāyouāll spot it easily by the long line of people waiting š¦. After eating, walk along the coast around the lighthouse; the scenery is absolutely stunningāblue sea, rocky shores, and the iconic lighthouse in the distance š. āŖļø Nubble Lighthouse My favorite part: The lighthouse is right there as soon as you get out of the carāno long walk needed! You can have dinner here too: there are two restaurants near the parking lot. One sells food through a window (grab it and eat outside), and the adjacent one is Fox's Lobster Houseāsit by the window and enjoy your meal with ocean views. Itās the perfect end to the day! Pro Tip: No matter the season, bring an extra jacket when going to the coastāthe temperature is lower by the sea, and the wind can be strong! š§„ #BostonArea #WhatToDoAroundBoston #WhereToGoInBoston #BostonDayTrips #BostonLife #Portland #PortlandMaine #RoadTrip #BostonAreaRoadTrip
