🌵 Art, History & Tacos | Mexico 🇲🇽

Just got back from an amazing 6-day, 5-night trip with my bestie to three dream destinations: Guanajuato, San Miguel de Allende, and Mexico City! ✈️❤️ 📍 Day 1: Flew direct from LA to Guanajuato. It’s a walkable city—you can cover most spots in half a day. ✨ Must-do: Catch the sunset at El Pipíla! Take the cable car up—it’s over 2,000m above sea level, so hiking might leave you breathless 😅💨 🎩 Spent some time at a local market and scored a super nice cowboy hat that became my trip staple! 🤠 📍 Day 2: Took a bus to San Miguel de Allende. This place feels like an affordable version of a European town—artsy, romantic, and full of vibes! 🎨💕 Heard many Americans retire here—it’s perfect for aimless wandering. Definitely a place I’d return to! 👗 If you have time, check out the local brand “Velia Sierra”—they sell really stylish linen and cotton clothing. 📍 Days 3-6: Mexico City! Stayed at an Airbnb in Roma Norte—super safe, packed with cute cafes and shops around. 🍽️ Eating: Highly recommend Marmota—cozy bistro with incredible food! Rosetta was okay… only their veggie tacos and the 🍃 dessert stood out. But their bakery is worth lining up for! 🌮 Tacos: My friend and I fell in LOVE with this street taco stand Went back two days in a row. Bring cash and ChatGPT—you’ll enjoy delicious, cheap tacos you can’t get in the US! 🤤 🛍️ Shopping: Audette & Back to Life Vintage: two cute stores right across from each other where we happily spent 💸 Best shopping spots are actually artisan markets! If you only go to one, make it Mercado de Artesanías La Ciudadela (east side). So many beautiful crafts, fair prices—I got totally dizzy and spent way too much lol! 🏛️ Museums: Frida Kahlo’s Blue House: Recommend watching the biopic before going, and book tickets early! Xinú Perfumes: Added this to my museum list because it feels more like an art gallery than a store. Both locations are uniquely beautiful and worth a visit. Bye for now, Mexico 🇲🇽💙 Next time I’ll leave more time for wandering and daydreaming 🫶 #JourneyHighlights #MexicoCity #Guanajuato #SanMiguelDeAllende #TravelDiary
