🍃 Asakusa Temple Kaminarimon 🌸

🌺🌿🍃Kaminarimon: On the left is the statue of the Wind God, and on the right is the Thunder God. 🌺🌿🍃The official name is "Furaijin Gate," but it is commonly known as "Kaminarimon." 🌺🌿🍃 It was destroyed in the first year of the Keio era (1865) and was reconstructed with reinforced concrete about a century later in 1960 (Showa 35). 🌺🌿🍃Hōzōmon Gate: Flanking the gate are statues of Nio (Vajra warriors), and it was formerly called "Niomon." 🌺🌿🍃After its reconstruction in the Showa era, it was renamed Hōzōmon. 🌺🌿🍃The name originates from the cultural property collection stored in the upper level of the gate. #AsakusaTemple #Kaminarimon #JapaneseCulturalHeritage 🗼🏮️
