Austin | How Does the Highly Acclaimed Italian Pizza
We originally intended to visit a newly opened Japanese restaurant nearby, but it didn’t offer dine-in services yet. So, we ended up at this widely recommended pizza spot within walking distance. The place is cozy with a pleasant atmosphere. Let’s get straight to the food review: 🍕 Vodka Arrabbiata with Sausage ✅ A red-sauce pizza with a slight kick. The crust was decent, but the sausage was just okay. It scored above average, though personally, I still prefer the pizzas at “DeSano” down the street. 🥗 Salad ✅ Pretty good! The ingredients change seasonally, and the dressing leaned toward the bold side. 🍫 Chocolate Cake ✅✅ The only non-ice cream dessert on the menu. My friend had raved about their tiramisu, but it wasn’t available—maybe it’s part of a rotating menu? We “reluctantly” ordered the chocolate cake, and it turned out to be a delightful surprise! Not overly sweet, with a cannoli-like pistachio cream and a sprinkle of sea salt on top. The sweet-and-salty combo made it perfectly balanced and utterly satisfying. It unexpectedly hit all the right notes for me! Final Thoughts This place is decent, but it didn’t blow me away. When it comes to Italian pizza, I’d still choose DeSano on the same street. However, if I ever return, it’ll definitely be for that amazing Italian dessert!
