Austin Food Review
📍 835 W 6th St Unit 114, Austin, TX 78703 (Just a 5-minute drive from UT — definitely worth a visit, folks! 🚗💨) In a nutshell: ✅ Elegant decor and great ambiance ✅ Fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented dishes ✅ A bit on the pricier side 💰 Perfect for a relaxed meal with friends or a date — less ideal if you’re just there to devour food (unless you’re feeling fancy! 🌝). Heads up: They get super busy on weekends! Here’s what we tried — ❤️ = must-order! ❤️ Crab Roe Soup Dumplings (Xiaolongbao) | ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Handmade, ultra-thin yet chewy skin, bursting with rich broth inside 🦀💦. You can actually taste the crab roe and fish maw. A must-try! Shanghai Soup Dumplings | ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Good, but paled in comparison to the crab roe version. Skip these and go straight for the crab! ❤️ Shrimp Siu Mai | ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Huge, flavorful, and packed with bouncy minced pork and a whole shrimp 🍤. Tastes just like the classic Cantonese dim sum — an absolute favorite! ❤️ Har Gow (Crystal Shrimp Dumplings) | ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Stuffed full of shrimp! 💯 So generous — the filling is fresh, springy, and satisfying. As a Cantonese food lover, I approve — tastes just like home! Peking Duck | ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Came with half a duck + three pancakes 🦆. The skin wasn’t very crispy, and the scallions didn’t hit right. A bit disappointing for the price. The pancakes were sweet and nice, though. ❤️ Bird’s Nest Stir-Fried Vegetables | ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ As beautiful as it is delicious! 🥦 A mix of purple broccoli, bell peppers, mushrooms, wood ear fungus, and asparagus in a light, glossy sauce. Served in a crispy taro nest — the top stays crunchy while the bottom soaks up the sauce. So good! Sesame Chicken | ⭐️⭐️ Your typical American-Chinese favorite. Nothing special — you can skip this one unless you’re craving that sweet, sticky vibe. Zhajiangmian (Noodles with Soybean Paste) | 👎 Big letdown — tasted like spaghetti with Italian meat sauce 🍝😅. Zero zhajiang flavor. We didn’t even finish it. Do not recommend. Final verdict: A classy spot with some standout dim sum — stick to the classics and you’ll leave happy! 🥢✨ #Austin #QiAustin #DimSumLover #AustinFoodGuide #TexasFoodie
