Austin Texas BBQ Master List ‼️🍖
I’ve been to Austin three times and tried five BBQ joints — with some inspo from Chef’s Table BBQ and Somebody Feed Phil Austin 👨🍳📺 Here’s my personal ranking: 🥇 Top Tier: Franklin Barbecue, Terry Black’s BBQ, La Barbecue 🥈 Second Tier: Salt Lick BBQ, Interstellar BBQ 🕑 Still on my list: ▫️ Snow BBQ (Tootsie, the 88-year-old pitmaster, draws crowds lining up from Friday night! Open Saturdays only.) ▫️ Leroy and Lewis Barbecue ▫️ Rudy’s BBQ Must-Try Items: 🥩 Brisket Smokiness: Franklin > La Barbecue > Interstellar > Salt Lick > Terry Black’s Juiciness: Terry Black’s > Franklin > La Barbecue > Salt Lick > Interstellar 🐖 Pork Ribs Tenderness (fall-off-the-bone): Interstellar > Terry Black’s > Franklin > Salt Lick > La Barbecue 🍖 Beef Ribs Only had them at Terry Black’s — a whole 1.5 lbs of meat! 🦾 Less intense flavor than brisket — best enjoyed with sauce on the thicker cuts. 🌭 Sausage Franklin’s has that strong smoky kick 💨 Terry Black’s Jalapeño Cheese Sausage is juicy and bursts with flavor! 🐷 Pulled Pork La Barbecue’s version is my favorite — so tender and well-seasoned. 🥬 Sides Variety & Taste Interstellar BBQ wins here — amazing sides and pretty good desserts, too 🍠🍰 Terry Black’s and Franklin are solid but classic. Salt Lick keeps it traditional with Collard Greens and Beans. 🔥 Order Difficulty & Tips Franklin > La Barbecue > Salt Lick > Terry Black’s > Interstellar Franklin: Order at least 3 days in advance 📅 La Barbecue & Terry Black’s: 1 day ahead Interstellar: Line up by 10:30 AM — they sell out fast! ⏳ #TexasBBQ #Austin#BBQRankings
