Authentic Basque Tapas in Boise – Home to the Largest Basque Community
✨Just got back from a lovely long weekend in Boise, Idaho, and I’m excited to share one of my favorite food discoveries! Did you know Boise is home to the largest Basque community in the United States? That means one thing: incredible Spanish-inspired cuisine! 🧡 I visited Ansots Basque Chorizos, a cozy spot right in the heart of the Basque Block, and left completely smitten. Here’s the full scoop: 📍 Ansots Basque Chorizos (Located in the Basque neighborhood) 💰 Around $30 per person 🌟 Vibe: Relaxed, friendly, and buzzing with local energy! The staff is warm and welcoming. They’re only open for lunch and can get pretty busy – totally worth it, though! 🍴 What We Ordered & Loved: ❤️ Clams & Chorizo Motzak A fragrant broth made with white wine, clams, tomatoes, and house-made garlic chorizo – so flavorful! We couldn’t get enough. The grilled bread on the side was perfect for soaking up every last drop. 🥖🍅 ❤️ Croquetas A tapa classic! We tried both the ham and cod versions. Crispy on the outside, creamy on the inside – absolutely delicious. No wonder the locals sitting next to us insisted we order them! ❤️ Basque Meatballs Made with lamb and smothered in a rich, savory sauce. The lamb flavor is distinct (in a good way!), and the sauce was perfect with fresh bread. 🍖🌿 ❤️ Basque Cheesecake You can’t have Basque food without trying their famous burnt cheesecake! Caramelized on the outside, soft and creamy inside – a sweet, satisfying finish. 🍰 💬 Final Thoughts: If you’re visiting Boise or just looking for a delicious, low-key lunch spot, Ansots is a must. The food is authentic, full of flavor, and easy on the wallet. Perfect for a weekend treat or a tasty stop during your explorations! #US #ID #Boise
