Awesome new favorite with great Sushi on Maui 🍣

Awesome new favorite with great Sushi on Maui 🍣 🌟 Great new restaurant and find for us on Maui! We were staying at the Grand Wailea, and our bellman there gave us a fantastic recommendation—OAO Restaurant—and we instantly fell in love with it! It’s not some overhyped tourist spot; it’s a cozy, local gem that serves sushi so fresh and delicious, it’s now our go-to favorite on the island. 🩐The food was absolute perfection. We started with the Rock Shrimp Tempura small plate, and it was a total hit! The shrimp were plump and juicy, coated in a light, crispy batter that didn’t overpower the sweet seafood. The accompanying dipping sauce—creamy with a hint of tang—made every bite even better; we finished the whole plate in minutes and were already craving more! 🩐Next up were the sushi rolls, and they did not disappoint. đŸ·We ordered the King Dragon roll first, and it was stacked with flavor: creamy avocado on the outside, crispy tempura shrimp, sweet crab, and crunchy cucumber inside. Every bite was a mix of textures—creamy, crispy, fresh—and it was so satisfying, we had to stop ourselves from ordering a second one right away!😂 But the star of the show was definitely the Wailea Rainbow roll. It was as beautiful as it was tasty—topped with a rainbow of fresh fish and sprinkled with chopped Ahi tuna that melted in our mouths. The tuna was so fresh, you could taste the ocean in every bite, and the combination of sweet mango and rich eel sauce inside the roll made it absolutely unforgettable. We kept saying it was better than most sushi we’ve had back home in the city!😂 đŸ·For drinks, we paired our meal with a glass of white wine (light and crisp, perfect with the tempura) and a mezcal cocktail. The cocktail was amazing—smoky, fruity, and just the right amount of strong—complementing the tuna sushi perfectly. Our server even gave us great tips on which drinks to pair with each dish, which made the whole experience feel extra special.😂 đŸ·OAO isn’t on any of the “top tourist restaurant lists,” but that’s what makes it so great. It’s a quiet, friendly spot where the focus is on amazing food and great service. We’d recommend it to anyone visiting Maui who loves fresh, authentic sushi and wants to avoid the crowded, overpriced tourist traps. It’s easily our new favorite, and we’ll be back again and again next time we’re on the island!😂 #MauiSushi#OAORestaurant#MauiFoodie#HawaiiEats#SushiLovers#GrandWaileaRecommend#MauiHiddenGem#HawaiiTravelFood#BestSushiOnMaui
