Awesome new favorite with great Sushi on Maui đŁ
Awesome new favorite with great Sushi on Maui đŁ đ Great new restaurant and find for us on Maui! We were staying at the Grand Wailea, and our bellman there gave us a fantastic recommendationâOAO Restaurantâand we instantly fell in love with it! Itâs not some overhyped tourist spot; itâs a cozy, local gem that serves sushi so fresh and delicious, itâs now our go-to favorite on the island. đŠThe food was absolute perfection. We started with the Rock Shrimp Tempura small plate, and it was a total hit! The shrimp were plump and juicy, coated in a light, crispy batter that didnât overpower the sweet seafood. The accompanying dipping sauceâcreamy with a hint of tangâmade every bite even better; we finished the whole plate in minutes and were already craving more! đŠNext up were the sushi rolls, and they did not disappoint. đ·We ordered the King Dragon roll first, and it was stacked with flavor: creamy avocado on the outside, crispy tempura shrimp, sweet crab, and crunchy cucumber inside. Every bite was a mix of texturesâcreamy, crispy, freshâand it was so satisfying, we had to stop ourselves from ordering a second one right away!đ But the star of the show was definitely the Wailea Rainbow roll. It was as beautiful as it was tastyâtopped with a rainbow of fresh fish and sprinkled with chopped Ahi tuna that melted in our mouths. The tuna was so fresh, you could taste the ocean in every bite, and the combination of sweet mango and rich eel sauce inside the roll made it absolutely unforgettable. We kept saying it was better than most sushi weâve had back home in the city!đ đ·For drinks, we paired our meal with a glass of white wine (light and crisp, perfect with the tempura) and a mezcal cocktail. The cocktail was amazingâsmoky, fruity, and just the right amount of strongâcomplementing the tuna sushi perfectly. Our server even gave us great tips on which drinks to pair with each dish, which made the whole experience feel extra special.đ đ·OAO isnât on any of the âtop tourist restaurant lists,â but thatâs what makes it so great. Itâs a quiet, friendly spot where the focus is on amazing food and great service. Weâd recommend it to anyone visiting Maui who loves fresh, authentic sushi and wants to avoid the crowded, overpriced tourist traps. Itâs easily our new favorite, and weâll be back again and again next time weâre on the island!đ #MauiSushi#OAORestaurant#MauiFoodie#HawaiiEats#SushiLovers#GrandWaileaRecommend#MauiHiddenGem#HawaiiTravelFood#BestSushiOnMaui
