Back to Munich’s Englischer Garten

🪿 Six years ago, I stumbled into the Englischer Garten on my visit to Munich and was broadened in my horizons by the nudist park 😂 (Germans lying around in the park completely nude, basking in the sun). However, what made me fall in love with the Englischer Garten is its inclusivity as a public space. Besides the uninhibited humans, you’ll see rushing streams and gentle brooks flowing through the garden, forming small ponds or gathering places like Eisbachwell under bridges, with forests and dancing light, bringing different scenery to every moment. Today’s route: 🚇 Take the U-Bahn to Odeonsplatz, and right next to it is the Hofgarten, a Renaissance garden. In the center is the Dianatempel, surrounded by fountains ⛲️ and neatly trimmed greenery. Today, many elderly people were playing bocce. Nearby are also the Munich Residenz and the German Theater Museum. 🥤 Suddenly remembered I hadn’t had coffee yet, so I just went to the café across the street and grabbed a croissant to go. On the way back, I took another path that led directly to the Englischer Garten. Once in the park, you can wander blindly; every corner is a beautiful sight. 🪿 Also, I must say, there are so many people in Munich! Compared to Cologne where I used to live, it feels like I’m in a park back home in China! 📖 While reading a book on a park bench, I was greeted by a friendly little black dog, so cute! 🏄‍♂️ On the way back, passing by Eisbachwell under the bridge, there were surfers in black outfits lined up to battle, which was definitely the highlight of today! #Park #GermanWeekend #LifeInGermany #Bavaria #Munich #EnglischerGarten #CitySurfers
