Bamboo House Roast Duck | San Antonio Branch π¦π
Great news, foodies! San Antonioβs Chinese food scene is finally leveling up! π The famous Bamboo House Roast Duck has officially opened here β no more driving all the way to Austin for freshly roasted duck. So happy! π The front part of the kitchen is open, so as soon as you walk in, you can see the ducks sizzling and rotating in the flame oven π₯, and chefs hand-making dumplings and buns. Just the sight alone will make your mouth water! β«οΈ The star β roast duck β did not disappoint! Crispy skin, tender meat, wrapped with cucumber, scallion, and a touch of sauce. Each bite is pure happiness. Bamboo House remains my #1 roast duck in Texas. π¦π― β«οΈ Unexpected delights: Passion Fruit Cucumber Salad π₯β¨ β SO refreshing! Sweet, tangy, made with crunchy mini cucumbers. The passion fruit aroma lingered even after we left. A must-order side dish! Crab & Pork Soup Dumplings π₯’ β bigger than expected! Dip them in vinegar for a savory burst. Thumb-Sized Pan-Fried Buns π₯ β filled with shrimp, chives, and pork. Tasty, but since Iβm not a big chive person, I didnβt eat too many. Good to share! β«οΈ Sichuan Dan Dan Noodles π β not what I expected, but delicious! Reminded me of Wuhan hot dry noodles β coated in rich peanut sesame sauce with a hint of chili. As an almost-Hubei person, it gave me major hometown vibes. β€οΈ β«οΈ Little touch: The water served was infused with lemon β a small but thoughtful detail. π π ΏοΈ Plenty of parking available. No outdoor seating yet, but imagine how awesome it would be in the fall with some skewers and cool breezeβ¦ π€οΈπ’ π Duck & Dumpling 3003 Thousand Oaks Dr, San Antonio, TX 78247 (It might not show up on maps yet β itβs in the old Taco Cabana location.
