Great news, foodies! San Antonio’s Chinese food scene is finally leveling up! 🎊 The famous Bamboo House Roast Duck has officially opened here – no more driving all the way to Austin for freshly roasted duck. So happy! 😍 The front part of the kitchen is open, so as soon as you walk in, you can see the ducks sizzling and rotating in the flame oven 🔥, and chefs hand-making dumplings and buns. Just the sight alone will make your mouth water! ▫️ The star – roast duck – did not disappoint! Crispy skin, tender meat, wrapped with cucumber, scallion, and a touch of sauce. Each bite is pure happiness. Bamboo House remains my #1 roast duck in Texas. 🦆💯 ▫️ Unexpected delights: Passion Fruit Cucumber Salad 🥒✨ – SO refreshing! Sweet, tangy, made with crunchy mini cucumbers. The passion fruit aroma lingered even after we left. A must-order side dish! Crab & Pork Soup Dumplings 🥢 – bigger than expected! Dip them in vinegar for a savory burst. Thumb-Sized Pan-Fried Buns 🥟 – filled with shrimp, chives, and pork. Tasty, but since I’m not a big chive person, I didn’t eat too many. Good to share! ▫️ Sichuan Dan Dan Noodles 🍜 – not what I expected, but delicious! Reminded me of Wuhan hot dry noodles – coated in rich peanut sesame sauce with a hint of chili. As an almost-Hubei person, it gave me major hometown vibes. ❤️ ▫️ Little touch: The water served was infused with lemon – a small but thoughtful detail. 🍋 🅿️ Plenty of parking available.
