Bastia — A Mediterranean Restaurant in Philly · Olives

Tucked away inside the Anna & Bel hotel in a residential area. Loved the rustic Italian countryside vibe — simple yet warm. The wall mural’s color palette and the door reminded me of Armani’s Bamboo collection 🎋. Bastia offers both a seasonal menu and daily specials. From the winter menu, I tried: 🐟 Amberjack Crudo — with grapefruit, green olives, celery, and crushed pistachios. 🦆 Spizzulus with Rohan Duck — a first for me with this shape of handmade pasta, texture like a lighter, chewier gnocchi, paired with duck and chestnuts. 🥩 Wagyu Flank — medium-rare American wagyu, served with roasted eggplant and potatoes. 🍸 Islay of Beauty — a cocktail infused with Pennsylvania chestnuts, orange, prickly pear, raisins… truly tasted like autumn in a glass. 🥃 Another cocktail (new, not yet on the online menu) featured smoked tea — reminiscent of a Negroni. For me, a complete meal — no matter how late — must end with coffee. A hot black coffee topped with cream softly mellowed the bitterness, served with a complimentary orange on the side 🍊. Outside, the winter night was dark and still — moments like these are what I look forward to most. I don’t always order coffee when dining out — it depends on who I’m with. This slow, intimate ending made the evening feel especially rare and cozy. So glad my first dinner of the new year ended with coffee! ☕✨ #PhillyEats #PhillyLife #HiddenGem #ItalianCuisine #MediterraneanFood #FoodAndMood
