๐ฐ Bayeux - A Millennia-Old Ancient Town! ๐
๐During French holidays: Departing from Gare Saint Lazare is very convenient, with a transfer in Caen, and you can arrive in just over two and a half hours. ๐The first stop must be the Tapisserie de Bayeux, created in the 11th century, in 1065, it tells the story of William of France's conquest and coronation in England. I thought it would be ordinary but was stunning - no photography is allowed! The museum provides a translator with Chinese. The Bayeux tapestry is 70 meters long and 0.5 meters wide, but today only 62 meters remain. In total, it's equivalent to three museums for 16 euros, which is a cost-effective deal for a visit together! ๐Next, visit the church, the only one that was not destroyed by the war after the World War II Allied landings. When we went, it was World War II Victory Day, and many Allied flags were hanging around, probably the only French city adorned with British and American flags. ๐The Museum of History and Culture tells the millennia-old history of the ancient town of Bayeux. Finally, visit the World War II History Museum - those who like the story of the Allied beach landings must not miss the 80th anniversary of World War II Victory ๐ค๐ป from 1944 to 2024! ๐If you have an extra night to stay, you can choose to go to the Normandy northern beaches the next day, which is a 20-minute drive from the city center and was the golden coast where the Allies landed.
