Be surprised Mexican bistro in San Jose--Cali Spartan Mexican Kitchen
π Cali Spartan Mexican Kitchen An unassuming Mexican restaurant that offers everything from street snacks to breakfast and full meals, as well as a variety of Mexican cocktails. Many Americans line up to buy from here, as it's considered to be more substantial, tasty, and affordable than Chipotle. You can choose from meats like beef tongue, beef head meat, and beef tripe, and select from four signature salsas: tomato Salsa, green Salsa, red Salsa, and the very spicy yellow Salsa. π Michelada Shrimp Platter $14 Shrimp grilled with a Mexican spicy sauce that includes beer, served on a bed of plenty of cucumber and green mango. You can't taste the beer nor feel the spiciness. It's a starter that's more about the presentation than the flavor. π Cali Skillet $14 π Chopped selected meats and bacon, prepared similarly to traditional Fajitas. When taken home warm, the cheese is still stretchy. It's already good on its own, but perfect when wrapped in a tortilla with meat and vegetables and paired with your choice of salsa. π Mixed Fajitas $16 ππ An enormous portion that can satisfy a hungry man. I chose steak and beef head meat; the beef head meat is a bit fatty with a soft, floury texture, very tasty! The Fajitas come with rice, tortillas, refried beans, Guacamole, and Pico de gallo (tomato Salsa), offering various ways to mix and eat. π Super Burrito $9 π It's thicker than an arm! The tortilla is thin and soft, and the generous fillings spill out when you cut into it, making it a super value Burrito. π Super Soft Tacos $9 for 3 β The Beef Tongue is tender but a bit fishy, the Marinated Pork is dry and tough, and the Fish, just two thin slices, is quite average. β οΈCash Only 515 S 10th St, San Jose, CA 95112 #San Jose#Cali Spartan Mexican Kitchen#food diary# Mexican bistro
