This weekend, we visited Bear Creek Lake State Park β not far from Charlottesville or Richmond! It features a sandy beach and a calm lake (no motor boats allowed π«π₯οΈ), making it perfect for swimming, kayaking, and paddle boarding. Pro tip π§: Google Maps may lead you to βBear Creek Lake Trail,β but once you pass the entrance booth ($7 parking fee π΅), just follow the road straight to the beach β no need to keep following the GPS! You can rent kayaks, paddle boards, and pedal boats right by the beach π£βοΈπΆ. The lake is small but incredibly peaceful.
