Beautiful Mazatlán - My Mexican Getaway 🇲🇽✨

Many friends asked about my Mexico trip, so here's a recap! 📅 Timing & Deal I booked for Dec 15-22 (pre-Christmas week) when prices drop. Snagged an amazing Sunwing package: • 7-day all-inclusive for family of 4: $3,400 CAD ✈️ • Direct flight to Mazatlán - a hidden gem on Mexico's Pacific coast! • Stayed at the resort shown in my first pic (many great options here) 💵 Money Matters Brought: • $200 USD (small bills) • $400+ CAD worth of pesos Note: Most guests were Mexican tourists - barely any Canadians/Americans. We might've been the only Chinese family! 🏨 Accommodation Way better than Cuba! 👍 • Newer & cleaner • Didn't upgrade to oceanview (waves were loud at night 🌊) • Few mosquitoes/bugs ☀️ Weather Perfection after humid Cuba! • Sunny all week ☀️ • Minimal wind • Extremely sunny - pack strong sunscreen! 🍽️ Food Buffet available all day: • Mexican food gets repetitive but tasty (better than Cuba) • Seafood = mostly fish • Best: Nachos & tacos (but gets old) • 4 specialty restaurants: 1️⃣ Japanese 🚨 (Avoid!) Everything drowned in cheese 🧀 (clearly for Western tastes) Almost made me sick 2️⃣ Argentinian steakhouse 🥩 (Winner!) 3️⃣ Italian 4️⃣ Mexican Outside meals = okay but pricey (similar to Canada). McDonald's meal = $10+ CAD! 🍹 Drinks • Unlimited good-quality cocktails • Great service • Tipping culture: Only North Americans tip (in USD) 🎉 Activities • City tour 🚌 = Meh (old town + jewelry store pitch) • Aquarium = "Largest in North America" but disappointing (done in 1hr) • Deer Island Tour = BEST! 🏝️ Boat ride + snorkeling + banana boat + kayaking Highest value! Verdict: Like Cuba - stick to water activities! 🚗 Transport • Tried local golf carts 🚗💨 (no doors/seatbelts! Turn signals = hand gestures) Fun but loud/expensive • Uber = Half taxi price (used daily) 🏖️ Beach Life Spent afternoons at resort's beach: • Soft sand • Fun waves (kids loved it!) 🌊 Final Thoughts: Highly recommend #Mexico #WinnipegLife #FamilyTravel
