Bellosguardo, the thousand-year-old castle in Florence

**Conclusion first: It was great, and there's no need to worry about disappointment! It might have something to do with the room!** This time in Italy, I planned to have my wedding ceremony in a church in Florence. It was a destination wedding with a photoshoot (you can see the results in my latest post). **Hotel Torre di Bellosguardo** Before booking, **TripAdvisor** was full of positive reviews. However, after booking, I saw many negative comments. Unfortunately, I had already booked two nights and couldn't cancel or get a refund. I had to mentally prepare myself and lower my expectations, but the experience exceeded all my expectations and became one of the best hotel stays of my life! Let's break down the common complaints I saw on **TripAdvisor**: ✨ **About the Smell:** I checked in late on the first day. Since many reviews mentioned that the place felt eerie and had a strong smell at night, I was initially a bit scared. But I realized that this smell is typical of old buildings, and I encountered it in the ceremony church and another B&B I stayed at in Salerno. I brought some Thai sprays and sprayed them around the room, which solved the problem. ✨ **About the Room:** The earlier you book, the better the room you'll get. Most rooms are booked months, even half a year, in advance. I had seen some negative reviews about Room 2, so I sent many emails to the hotel, explaining that I was getting married and needed a room with a good view for photos. I booked in mid-June, and the staff were very helpful, upgrading me to the best double room with a view. Room 9 is highly recommended!! Waking up to sunlight streaming through the windows, in a quiet and soft atmosphere, made me feel like a medieval princess. I even thought this place had more Tuscany charm than the golden Tuscany in late July. ✨ **About Facilities and Hot Water:** Room 9 is well-designed. The bathroom has a modern shower with separate areas for dry and wet zones, and the hot water works perfectly. It's not cold at all, and if you turn it up to the maximum, it's actually quite hot. ✨ **About Breakfast:** After spending over ten days in Italy, I found that hotel breakfasts are generally similar. They usually offer croissants, bread, and cold cuts. It's different from what you might find in American or domestic hotels, so it's best to be open-minded and accept it. I won't go into detail about the garden, pool, views, and the beautiful interior design and decor, as they are truly stunning! Perhaps because of the wonderful memories I created here, I can't find any faults. Although the facilities are not as luxurious as those in other five-star hotels, that's part of the hotel's unique charm! #Florence #Italy #CastleHotel #FlorenceHotels #HotelRecommendation #EuropeTravel #ItalyTravel #TravelTips #ItalyHotels #HiddenTravelDestinations
