Berkeley Summer Weekend๏ฝDay Trip to Stanford ๐๐ฒ
Took BART + CalTrain โ about 2 hours each way. Hereโs the breakdown: ๐ BART from Downtown Berkeley Make sure your Clipper card has enough balance (~$11 one way) ๐ณ New gates and fences are installed โ feels safer, but still keep an eye out ๐ Exit at Millbrae (the stop after SFO) ๐ Transfer to CalTrain Platform 5 (toward San Josรฉ) โ ๏ธ MUST tap the blue validator on the platform before boarding! (We forgot and got charged the full fareโฆ until a kind conductor helped us ๐ ) ๐ At Stanford: Pick up a map at the visitor center ๐บ๏ธ. We walked from north to south โ the campus is gorgeous and walkable! Donโt miss the student store โ itโs huge and full of cool merch ๐๐. ๐ Pro tip: Scan the QR code on your receipt โ complete a 3-min survey for a $5 off $30 coupon! โณ One day is a bit tight โ you might have to choose between sightseeing or shopping ๐ข I missed the Patagonia HQ in Palo Alto โ hope to visit during summer school! (Also โ if anyone knows how to get a good deal at Patagonia with Capital One, lmk! ๐๏ธ๐) ๐ Overall, met many kind people โ though encountering some unhoused individuals was unsettling. โ Highly recommend going with friends and coming back before dark. #UCB #Berkeley #Stanford #BayAreaLife #DayTrip #StudentLife #TravelTips
