Berkeley Weekend Getaway|Coit Tower & Chinatown
It’s the weekend and I’m heading to SF again—yep, I just can’t sit still 🤓 (Readings are piling up, but fun comes first—no regrets🧎♀️) Went to several spots over two days—gonna share them slowly~ 🌟Coit Tower Opening hours: 10am–4pm, so if you’re planning to hike up for the blue hour, it’s a no❌ We started from Chinatown after dinner—took about 20 mins to climb up. The slope is a bit steep but not too exhausting~ Even though the tower was closed when we arrived, the view from the top was still amazing! 🤩 (But be warned—SF nights are super windy and cold🥶 So layer up, ideally a windbreaker‼️ My hoodie was not enough—I was freezing on the way down.) California sunshine needs no filter—the views are literally photo-ready ✌️ (Well, the sceneries are. I still photoshopped myself lol) From the hill, you can see the Golden Gate Bridge and Fisherman’s Wharf (you can even hear the sea lions—they’re loud and cute😂) These days, around 7:40–8:00 pm, you can catch a gorgeous pink sunset~ Overlooking the entire city from above feels pretty spectacular. You can also see the skyline on the other side. 🌟Chinatown Followed recommendations from xhs and all three places were DELICIOUS 😋 Seriously healed my homesick stomach… Thank you, Chinatown🙏 Yummy Bakery & Cafe Got egg tarts and pineapple buns—no regrets! The egg tarts were decent, but the pineapple bun was everything!🤲 Hon’s Wun-Tun House Ordered wonton noodle soup—so comforting and warm. Perfect for a chilly evening~ Z&Y Restaurant – ABSOLUTELY INSANE!! ✨✨ A bit pricey, but the flavors are totally worth it… authentic Sichuan food, you did not disappoint this time! We had the boiled fish—super fragrant and flavorful, not too spicy. I even devoured the bean sprouts at the bottom…🤤 Also tried the tea-smoked duck and hand-torn cabbage. Honestly, this would be a top-tier restaurant even in China! It gets crowded. We went around 5 pm on a weekend and got seated immediately. Right after, a line started forming😮 As for other shops—nothing stood out too much. There was a cool second-hand camera store, but I’m no expert so I didn’t risk it. First-timers can just wander around—the food is the real highlight! Heard good things about R&G Lounge too, but it was packed on Saturday so we skipped. SF—I’ll be back!! #StudyAbroadPlog #StudyAbroad #SanFrancisco #SFFood #BerkeleyLife #InternationalStudent
