Berlin’s Peruvian Cuisine: Rocoto 2.0! Food Exploration Series
Sadly, my favorite restaurant, Rocoto, is always fully booked before Christmas, so I had to find a new spot. I discovered this Peruvian restaurant in Wilmersdorf. 🥘✨ The dishes here share similarities with Rocoto’s. The classic Ceviche features very fresh white fish, generously portioned. The lemon juice felt a bit diluted, but the overall seasoning was decent. 🐟🍋 The Lomo Saltado (Picture 3) was hearty! (I initially thought the meat portion was small, but it turned out to be just right.) The beef was cooked in a very authentic South American style—fully cooked but not dry, slightly chewy yet rich in flavor, with a hint of wok hei (breath of the wok). Highly recommend trying Chicha Morada (Picture 1, in the glass), a South American drink made from purple corn syrup, usually boiled with cinnamon and star anise. It’s mildly sweet with a touch of spice. 🌽🍹 The prices are slightly cheaper than Rocoto’s, and you can eat until you’re full 🤏—great value for money ! The restaurant also offers some Peruvian snacks, perfect for sharing. The overall ambiance is nice, with spacious seating and no overcrowding. 🍴🌟 📍 Sabor Latino #GlobalFoodies #HiddenGemRestaurants #BestValueForMoney
