Berlin | A Fusion of Flavors with Full Vibes

Lishan Sanren, based in Berlin’s Schöneberg, sharing and documenting every restaurant visit and misstep 🍽. A steak enthusiast 🥩, and on a journey toward embracing firearms. Feel free to follow along! (Already sorted into my collection album). . Fusion cuisine seems to be trending more and more in the restaurant world, and this French-Vietnamese fusion spot is particularly unique: the menu is designed like a magazine, with lots of concepts and dish introductions, paired with tons of real photos! Most of the featured dishes in the photos are the restaurant's specialties. They won’t blow you away but are solid choices. Raw Shrimp Tartare (12€): Very creative plating, like a vibrant seascape, reminiscent of a corner of the ocean. The shrimp tartare is dressed with a sweet and spicy sauce that somewhat overpowers the natural flavor of the shrimp. Overall, the presentation is fresh and innovative, but the seasoning is fairly average. Sautéed King Oyster Mushrooms (9€): The dish is called FLY ON PAN—classic Asian flavors of sauce-fried king oyster mushrooms, topped with crispy roasted parsnip slices. Sadly, it lacked a bit of that "wok hei" (pan-fried essence). Roast Duck Leg with Centella Asiatica Waffles (21€): The duck leg is braised then seared, with tender meat inside and crispy, aromatic skin drizzled with honey sauce. The waffle is infused with Centella Asiatica, giving it a subtle herbaceous scent, while the pickled radish on the side offers a refreshing contrast—though the duck isn't too greasy to begin with. Originally, I was torn between duck leg, lamb chops, or octopus, but alas, no octopus today, making the choice easier. Guess the octopus will have to wait for next time. Coffee-Rubbed Lamb Chops (26€): The dish is called CAFÉ AU LAMB, playing with the name. The lamb chops retain the full gaminess of the meat, with a perfect char on the outside. However, the meat was cooked to medium-well (seven out of ten doneness), and I think it would have been better at medium (five out of ten doneness)—it was slightly overdone. Underneath was a bed of roasted veggies and corn puree, dusted with coffee grounds. Not mind-blowing, but definitely creative. The dessert I had my eye on—three little cookies—is permanently unavailable, which is a real shame. Ordered a 0.5L beer (5.6€) to go with it, totaling 73.5€. . #DailyFoodie #FoodiesHere #WeekendEateryHunt #FoodHunt #FoodRecommendations #FoodieLife #LifeInGermany #Germany #StreetsAndFood #EverydayInGermany
