Berlin | Hardcore Fusion from Sashimi to Pork Chop 🍣🥩
NOVEMBER Brasserie (Dinner) Opened in 2022, November has quickly become one of the most talked-about restaurants, requiring reservations two to three weeks in advance. It has certainly lived up to the hype by making it onto the Michelin Guide (Bib Gourmand). 🌟 🍣 Sashimi and Sushi: What sets November apart from other bistros, especially after SAN received poor treatment, is its commitment to high-quality sashimi. The highlight is the whole red snapper sashimi. We ordered the chef’s choice platter, which included salmon, fatty tuna (served with dashi jelly for a unique texture), and Arctic surf clam— all very good! The only slight disappointment was the shrimp sashimi, which was a bit sticky. It came with several homemade sauces, which were fun to try, but the fish was so fresh that they weren't really necessary. 🥩 Small Plates: Beef Tataki: Japan’s version of tartare, translated as lightly seared beef slices. This was my favorite small plate; the beef had a slight chewiness with a smoky flavor, paired with spicy mustard sauce, salad greens, and chili salt. Kohlrabi Salad: Made with local kohlrabi, spread with avocado sauce and sprinkled with peanuts. It wasn't as delicious as I expected, but my friend loved it! Crispy Oyster Mushroom: A must-have dish at almost every bistro. It was a bit too sour and not refreshing enough. 🍄 🍤 Main Courses: Shrimp Risotto (not listed on the menu): Even non-risotto lovers were blown away! The shrimp paired with creamy rice was exceptional, with a hint of saffron aroma hidden in the cheese and a touch of lime zest to enhance the flavor. Wiener Schnitzel: This dish shocked me the most! Just as I was enjoying the sashimi, a massive Vienna-style veal cutlet arrived. By this point, I didn’t have much space left in my stomach, and I had to force it down. From sashimi to pork chop, I didn’t expect this fusion to happen inside me rather than at the table! The potato salad served with it was quite nice. 🥔 🍰 Dessert: San Sebastian Cheesecake: The kumquat and grapefruit jam didn’t blend well with the cheesecake. I still blame the veal cutlet! 😅 With food and wine, the average cost is about €80 per person. Overall, it’s a great place with a lovely atmosphere, perfect for dates. The seafood and sashimi are definitely worth trying! ❤️ #GermanyBerlin #BerlinLife #BerlinExploration #BerlinFood
