Berlin | The Biggest Garlic Vermicelli Scallops I've Ever Had

The Berlin Chinese fine dining gem UUU, which usually only offers set menus, has a "seafood" theme this month, with daily menus featuring different seafood dishes. 🍔 After dining there, I felt incredibly satisfied and immediately booked another visit for this month! 🙌🏼 We ordered almost everything on the menu this time, except for the day's specialty, stone dogfish. The most impressive dishes were the jumbo garlic vermicelli steamed scallops and the bream dumplings. The dessert was as good as always, with the sweet potato ice cream having a strong sweet potato flavor. 🍠 The scallop shell was almost as big as my face (exaggeration)! The huge scallop was sliced into thin pieces, with the roe beside it. The tender texture was like custard, and the yellow lantern pepper sauce on top added a mild spiciness. The vermicelli soaked in the garlic scallop broth was incredibly flavorful in every bite. I highly recommend ordering one per person to fully enjoy it! 🍜 My favorite is their dumplings with a solid filling that sticks to the wrapper. Biting into the bream dumpling, you can taste the delicate fish paste and the fresh aroma of celery. Dipped in the red oil wonton spicy broth, it's so delicious that I wanted more even after finishing. The owner said that because it's made with pure fish meat, which requires deboning, each table is limited to one order. 😥 The drinks are all based on Chinese tea, including cold-brew tea, kombucha, and tea-based cocktails. I highly recommend their homemade kombucha, a tangy and sweet sparkling tea that, in my opinion, outshines all fruit-flavored drinks. 🍃 The magic of UUU is that every dish, from the ingredients to the seasoning, shows great care. The five types of spiciness in this dinner were all unique. They don't rely on heavy seasoning to capture your taste buds but always manage to highlight the natural flavors of the ingredients through layers of taste and aroma. 💫 Average cost per person: 💰90€ UUU #BerlinFood #BerlinLife #LocalFoodRecommendations #FavouriteLocalEats #FoodPhotography
