Berlin Michelin 3-Star Rutz Experience
Let’s talk about the sommelier—this restaurant’s sommelier is Frau Großmann, a rare female sommelier who has received quite a few accolades: Gault&Millau’s 2021 Sommelier of the Year, Der Feinschmecker-Sommelière 2023 Best Sommelier, and Rolling Pin Awards 2023 Top 50 Sommeliers, where she ranked first! So, today I opted out of the typical wine pairing and asked her to recommend a bottle instead. 🍷 Based on the day’s menu and my preferences, she suggested the Ziereisen Jaspis Gutedel 2013. Gutedel (also known as Chasselas in French) is a Swiss grape 🍇 variety with a 5,000-year history. Ziereisen is probably one of the best wineries for crafting wine from this grape. The aroma had notes of sesame, and it was rich and smooth on the palate, with a prominent acidity. It hit its peak flavor about an hour after opening.
