Berlinische Galerie: Museum of Modern Art 🎨🏛️

This museum primarily showcases modern art and is divided into two floors, with a beautifully designed staircase! 🪜✨ ✅ Upon entering, you’ll encounter the Hunting exhibition. The vast empty space highlights the fragility, insignificance, and vanishing vulnerability of the small animals lying on the ground. 🦌💔 ✅ The first floor features works by the renowned architect Hans Uhlmann. My superficial review: the sculptures are hard to understand, and the paintings are eye-catching in a bold way. 😅 Another room on this floor hosts an exhibition on architecture and nature: Closer to Nature, Bauen mit Pilz, Baum, Lehm (Closer to Nature: Building with Mushrooms, Trees, and Clay), running until October 14th. This is my favorite part of the museum! The honeycomb-like structure (pictured in Figures 1-2) was previously exhibited at the TU Library—it’s surprisingly soft to the touch. 🍄🏗️ ✅ The second floor is mainly dedicated to paintings. Figure 6 depicts the dilemma of East Berliners during the division of Berlin, torn between leaving or staying. Figure 7, originally intended to be a steel sculpture, is displayed as a paper model here. I really like it—it has a contrasting sense of liveliness. The museum is also very blind-friendly. Many artworks, like the dancing lady in Figure 9 💃🏻, are recreated as fabric collages placed on benches, allowing visually impaired visitors to touch and understand the art. Braille descriptions are also provided. 🖼️👐 #ArtExhibition #ExhibitionRecommendations #BerlinArt #BerlinMuseum #BerlinLife #ContemporaryArt
