Bhutan, a peaceful and happy country
I planned to visit this mysterious country of Bhutan 10 years ago, and finally made it happen 10 years later.๐ As soon as I got off the plane, the luggage conveyor belt at the airport gave me a surpriseโthereโs a replica of Bhutanโs landmark in the middle of the conveyor belt (Picture 6).๐ฅฅ Tiger's Nest Monastery, Bhutan's most famous attraction.๐ Punakha Dzong.๐ฝ I happened to catch a religious ceremony when visiting the Thimphu Buddha.๐ฝ I must praise my Bhutanese guideโheโs such a kind person.๐ My travel partner and I are both into photography, each carrying a camera bag.๐ฅ Along the way, including during the hike up and down Tiger's Nest Monastery, our guide insisted on helping us carry the camera bags. ๐ Thatโs no light load, especially since the hike up Tiger's Nest involves a vertical climb of 900 meters.๐ Visa: The e-visa is very easy to get. ๐ฝ The visa fee is 40 USD, and in addition, you need to pay a sustainable development fee of 100 USD per night.๐ For example, if you stay in a hotel for 3 nights, youโll pay 300 USD.๐ Accommodation: Bhutan has a good range of hotels, from a few hundred to over ten thousand yuan. ๐ฅ Even hotels costing a few hundred yuan a night are in decent condition.๐ Flights: There are direct flights from Bangkok (Thailand), Dhaka (Bangladesh), Kathmandu (Nepal), etc.๐ You can book directly on the website of Druk Air (Royal Bhutan Airlines).๐ฅ Tickets: Most attractions in Bhutan cost 500 Ngultrum per person (about 43 RMB), and Tiger's Nest Monastery costs 1000 Ngultrum per person๐. You can also ride a horse for half the way up Tiger's Nest, with a one-way price of over 100 USD.๐ Notes: Taking photos inside Bhutanโs monasteries is prohibited. ๐ Smoking is banned nationwide, and itโs not allowed even in open areas in towns, but hotels all have smoking rooms. ๐ฅ When visiting monasteries, you need to wear long pants; for Tiger's Nest Monastery, long sleeves are also required.๐ Bhutan has started to allow independent travel, but without a guide, you canโt enter monasteries and can only visit two cities. ๐ Local guides and car rental services are very affordable.๐ Itโs recommended to travel with a guide to have a deeper understanding of Bhutan. ๐ Choosing a good guide is important.๐ #My
