Bhutanese Restaurant Zhego

Bhutanese Restaurant Zhego šŸ”„šŸ”„šŸ”„ Bhutan is a country located at high altitudes with rugged mountainous terrain. The characteristic ingredients in its traditional cuisine include chili peppers, dairy products, and yak meat. Among them, chili peppers are particularly indispensable—the national dish ema datsi is made by stir-frying chili peppers with cheese. Unfortunately, my companions aren’t big fans of spicy food, so we didn’t dare to order this dish. I hope those who love spicy food will share their thoughts after trying itļ½ž Half of Zhego’s menu consists of vegetarian dishes, and the other half is meat-based. For meat options, you can find pork belly, beef, and chicken. Shakam Shukam Datsi is dried beef stewed with chili peppers and cheese. It was my first time trying dried white chili peppers, which the owner said are the least spicy dried chilies in the restaurant. The dried beef is air-dried in-house and tastes a bit tough. The texture of this dish is relatively watery, and the chili peppers and cheese don’t blend into the rich, mellow flavor I had expected. The accompanying rice is quite distinctive—it’s Bhutanese red rice, which is very chewy. ā¤ļøā¤ļøā¤ļø Goep Paa is spicy beef tripe with chili peppers. This was my favorite dish. The beef tripe is tender, spicy, and full of Sichuan vibes. It would be even better if it were cut into smaller pieces. šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚ Cheese Momo (cheese dumplings). Perhaps influenced by the Himalayan region, Bhutan also has dumplings. The wrapper is chewy, and although the filling contains cabbage and cheese, it mainly highlights the fresh flavor of the cabbage, with the cheese being less prominent. #NicheRestaurant #FoodAndFun
