Bielefeld | Historisches Museum 🏛️

The Bielefeld Historical Museum spans three floors: the first floor mainly showcases the textile industry, while the second focuses on historical culture, including a variety of unearthed artifacts. Additionally, there’s a "Youth Museum" in the basement where young people can relax and learn, and it often hosts youth activities. 👧🧑‍🏫 At the entrance hall, you'll find one of the oldest surviving steam engines in Germany—a symbol of Bielefeld’s industrialization. 🚂 On the first floor, you can see Bielefeld’s old subway, where you can even sit and watch a documentary on the city’s history, featuring how Jahnplatz looked in the past. 🎬 Bielefeld is known for its linen! As early as the 16th century, this was an important center for linen textiles. In the first-floor exhibit, you’ll find linen, plush textiles, sewing machines, bicycles, and various tools on display. 🧵🚲 The second floor highlights the impact of Bismarck on Bielefeld’s development. During Germany's unification under Bismarck, Bielefeld, as part of Prussia, underwent political and economic transformations. Bismarck’s policies, including infrastructure development and economic reforms, helped industrialize Bielefeld and the surrounding region. 🏗️🇩🇪 Opening Hours: Tuesday - Friday: 10:00 AM ~ 5:00 PM Saturday, Sunday, Holidays: 11:00 AM ~ 6:00 PM Closed on Mondays Tickets: Regular: €6 (official price) Discounted: €3 (official price) Student: €2 🎫 #Germany #GermanMuseum #Bielefeld #LivingInGermany #WeekendInGermany #GermanTowns #HiddenGermany #History #GermanHistory #NorthRhineWestphalia
