Stretching approximately 26 kilometers in length and plunging to a depth of about 800 meters, the canyon is composed of red sandstone and boasts a rich geological landscape. 1β£ Main Attractions π Three Rondavels: Three circular peaks resembling traditional African huts, these are among the canyon's most famous landmarks.βοΈβοΈβοΈ Blyde Dam: Situated at the southern end of the canyon, this man-made lake offers picturesque scenery.βοΈβοΈβοΈ God's Window: A lookout point providing breathtaking views of the canyon and distant landscapes. On clear days, you can even see the border of Mozambique. The layered mountains create a "phantasm" that somewhat resembles Zhangjiajie in China.πππ Bourke's Luck Potholes: Unique circular rock formations created by river erosion, these are one of the canyon's signature sights. Unfortunately, due to a strike by South African workers, we were unable to visit the interior.ππππ 2β£ Natural Ecology The canyon is home to a rich variety of flora and fauna, including numerous bird species, monkeys, and antelopes. 3β£ Hiking + Rafting: There are several hiking trails around the canyon suitable for hikers of different fitness levels. Additionally, you can enjoy rafting and canoeing.ππππ 4β£ Best Time to Visit The canyon is a year-round destination, but the spring (September to November) and autumn (March to May) offer the most pleasant weather and the most beautiful scenery.
