Boise | Authentic Tapas in the Largest Basque Community in the US

I had no idea Boise is home to the largest Basque community in the U.S.—so of course, I had to try some authentic Spanish food! Found this amazing spot that makes its own chorizo, and it did not disappoint. 📍 Ansots Basque Chorizos — located right in the heart of the Basque Block 💰 Around $30 per person 🌟 The restaurant has a laid-back vibe with friendly, easy-going staff. It’s only open for lunch and gets pretty busy. The menu features a variety of tapas and chorizo sandwiches. ❤️ Clams & Chorizo Motzak — Clams and house-made garlic chorizo simmered in a white wine broth with tomatoes… so fragrant! The broth was rich and flavorful, and we dipped every bit of the crispy bread into it. ❤️ Croqueats — A must-order tapa! We tried both the ham and cod versions. Crispy outside, tender inside, packed with savory goodness—no wonder the regulars next to us highly recommended it. ❤️ Basque Meatballs — Made with lamb, these had a distinct gamey flavor and were smothered in a rich sauce. Perfect with bread. ❤️ Basque Cheesecake — You can’t have Basque food without trying the burnt cheesecake. Caramelized on the outside, soft and creamy inside—so good! 💥 Overall, the tapas were authentic, beautifully presented, and seriously delicious. Great value for the price—perfect for a relaxing weekend lunch or a fun stop during your trip. #Boise #Idaho #USTravel #USATrip #Foodie #TravelFood 🧀🥖✨
