Borough Market

Borough Market was absolutely PACKED with people—like, I’ve never seen such a huge, lively crowd in a food market before! 🤯 As soon as we stepped through the entrance, the air hit us with a mix of fragrant spices, freshly baked bread, and sizzling seafood—such a tempting smell that made our tummies growl instantly! Every corner was buzzing with energy: vendors called out to passersby, friends laughed while sharing snacks, and kids tugged at their parents’ hands to point at colorful treats. It took us a good 10 minutes just to squeeze through the sea of food lovers, and we kept pausing to peek at all the amazing dishes on display. First stop? The super popular Spanish Seafood Paella that’s been all over social media lately—everyone’s been talking about how good it is, and we just had to try it! 🥘 The line stretched halfway down the aisle, and we ended up waiting for almost 20 minutes—our feet were a little sore, but let me tell you, it was 100% worth every second! When the hot, steaming pan of paella was handed to us, the first thing we noticed was the golden, crispy crust on the bottom of the rice—something the chef called “socarrat,” and it’s the best part! The rice was perfectly seasoned with saffron, loaded with plump shrimp, tender mussels, and chunks of fresh white fish, and each bite was bursting with rich, coastal flavors. 👌 There were three price options: a small one for 18 pounds, the medium (which we got) for 24 pounds, and a large family-sized one for 36 pounds. For that quality, the generous portion, and how fresh all the seafood tasted? Total steal! 💰 We ended up standing by a small table, blowing on each spoonful to cool it down—we just couldn’t wait to eat it! Then, as we wandered further, we spotted the Strawberry Chocolate Cup that seemed to be in everyone’s hands—seriously, every few steps we saw someone taking a bite of it! 🍓🍫 It looked so indulgent: a tall cup filled with fluffy chocolate mousse, topped with a big, glistening strawberry and a drizzle of dark chocolate sauce. I was a little worried it might be too sweet and greasy—chocolate desserts can sometimes feel heavy—but wow, was I wrong! The first bite was a game-changer: the strawberries were sweet and juicy, with just the right hint of tartness that cut through the rich, creamy chocolate perfectly. The mousse was light, not too dense, and the dark chocolate drizzle added a nice bitter edge to balance everything out. Each bite was a delicious mix of tangy, sweet, and creamy—so good that we finished our cups in just a couple of minutes! It’s now one of my new favorite desserts, and I’m already craving it again! 😋 Sadly, with so many people around, we couldn’t take too many photos—most of the time we were either holding our food (afraid of spilling it!) or trying to dodge the crowds to avoid bumping into others. 📸 Every time I pulled out my phone, someone would walk past, and I didn’t want to block the way! There were also so many other amazing-looking snacks we had to skip: crispy fish and chips with golden batter that crunched just looking at it, gooey cheese toasties oozing with melted cheddar, colorful fruit smoothies made with fresh, ripe berries, and even warm churros dusted with cinnamon sugar. We kept saying “maybe next time” to each one, but our stomachs were already full from the paella and chocolate cup—we just didn’t have enough space to try everything! 😂 It was such a shame, but it also made the trip feel more exciting—like there’s a whole list of foods waiting for us to discover. Already counting down the days until my next visit—I need to taste every single delicious thing there, starting with that fish and chips! 🤔 I even made a little mental note of the stalls we missed so we don’t forget them. This trip was such a fun, chaotic, and delicious food adventure—there’s nothing better than exploring a busy market with good company and great food. I had to jot it down right away to remember how amazing it was, from the crowded, lively atmosphere to the mouthwatering dishes that made every minute worth it! 🥰 #Londoncuisine #UK #London #Londontravel
