Bosnia and Herzegovina layered fragrant crispy beef patties

Super niche Bosnian food in New York—if you’ve never tried Balkan cuisine, you have to go! It’s so delicious it’s insane (and they even waive the tip!) 😱 The restaurant’s in Astoria—only a 5-minute subway ride from LIC. As soon as I walked in, the rich aroma of meat hit me—wow 🤤. Seeing all the neighbors dining there, I knew I’d picked the right spot. The owner, a sweet grandpa, was super enthusiastic and introduced me to Bosnian specialties. Burek (Layered Phyllo Roll) 👍👍👍👍👍 You can choose meat/veggie/cheese fillings—strongly recommend the beef! The phyllo is so crispy it crumbles with every bite 😍, and the meat filling is incredibly fragrant. It tastes surprisingly similar to Xi’an’s crispy beef pancakes—so satisfying! House Combo (Grilled Sausage Platter) 👍👍👍👍👍 The Ćevapi (small grilled sausage) is unreal—juicy, flavorful, and even bursts with juice! 🥩 Pair it with red pepper sauce and sour cream, wrap it in pita, and one bite will make you feel like you’re floating ✨. We also got homemade yogurt—it’s thick and creamy 😋. Grandpa mentioned they have Bosnian drinks too, but I was way too full to try them, haha 😂. The decor’s cozy, and the dining experience was awesome overall! 📍 Sarajevo Grill #GlobalFoodCriticContest #AmericasFoodFiesta #StreetFoodExplorers #NewYorkFood #NewYorkEats #NewYorkRestaurants #NewYorkLife
