Bostonโs Enchanting Deer Forest ๐ฆ at Southwick Zoo
Just a 1-hour drive from Boston ๐ with Free parking ๐ซ General Admission: Adult $29/ Child$23๐ฒ (If you have enough time, I recommend buying the $40 Combo Skyfari+Train - see pic 8 for a view from the cable car circling the zoo) โฐ Suggested visit time: Over 3 hours, open from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm ๐After September 26, the zoo hosts its annual Nighttime Pumpkin Lantern Festival ๐ Lantern Journey. Tickets are $40 per person. As the largest zoo in New England, the experience is truly fantastic, with hundreds of animals to see up close ๐ ๐ฆ๐ซ๐ฆ. The zoo isnโt crowded, allowing for quiet observation and interaction. Sitting on a bench in the afternoon, you can look up to see kids excitedly wiggling their little legs on the Skyfari, reminiscent of childhood spring outings to the zoo. ๐ฆ The Deer Forest is at the southernmost part of the zoo, deep within the park. I highly recommend bringing a bunch of quarters to exchange for corn to feed the deer. If you forget, you can also exchange at the entrance supermarket. The deer are very gentle and polite ๐ฅน, but some are easily startled. Itโs best to squat down (to their level) to feed them; theyโll approach you-friendly and slowly. #BostonLife #BostonSurroundings #BostonWeekend #Zoo #Boston #DayTripsFromBoston
