Boston Surroundings | ☃️🫧 Ice Castles - The Icy Fortress

Feels like the American version of the Ice and Snow World 🇺🇸 Life in Boston can get a bit dull after a while 😅, just a monotonous routine of work and home. So, I took a weekend trip to the Ice Castles in New Hampshire. The last time I saw ice sculptures was on a trip to Harbin when I was in elementary school. Seeing the ice castle was a thrill for this southern kid. 😄 Admission🎫: $20 on regular days,$30 on holidays Opening Hours🕐: January to March each year I heard that Ice Castles are set up in four states in the U.S., namely Utah, New Hampshire, Wisconsin, and Colorado. Make sure to wear gloves🧤, a hat, and non-slip shoes👟. Even though it wasn’t cold in the city, the wind in the mountains can be brutal, and you might get blown away. 🫨 Taking photos📷 can be a bit challenging due to backlighting since the ice castle is so bright it makes people look darker, but with a camera, you can adjust the light for some great shots. Apparently, they light up the castle at night, which I didn’t get to see, but it must be amazing. The castle itself isn’t that big; you can walk through it in about 20 minutes, making it a perfect weekend relaxation spot. It’s about a two-hour drive from Boston Downtown. It’s quite a distance to go just for this, but there are several ski resorts along the way from Boston. We went skiing at Pats Peak on Saturday⛷️, and then visited the Ice Castles on Sunday. You can plan to go skiing beforehand to make it a wonderful weekend. #ChineseNewYear #BostonDayTrips #Boston #BostonLife #StartTheNewYearWithATrip #GetCloserToNature #SouthernPotato #USTravel
