🔅 Boston Surroundings | Exploring Mystic Seaport Museum

🌟The town of Mystic in Connecticut is truly a treasure, and we took the opportunity to visit the Mystic Seaport Museum before the coastal area got too cold. Although it’s called a museum, it feels more like a vintage town that’s been preserved. 🌟The museum’s north gate is designed to look like the front of a sailing ship, while the south gate features an old whaling boat. Stepping inside is like quietly entering the daily life of that era. Each house built along the coast served its own purpose, whether it was a general store, a school, or a church. Inside each house, the historical and vintage feel is palpable, yet you can deeply sense the past life of a fishing village. Stores like the clock shop, brewery, iron foundry, print shop, and fishing tackle shop are still “open for business,” presenting the real daily life of the town. 🌟The harbor is also home to many ships that you can visit, each with its own historical significance, and some are still in use for daily sailing. You can also choose to take a cruise and sail around the harbor. The kids’ museum is more suitable for younger children with various toys, which, although advertised for under 7s, is actually more appropriate for under 3s. 🌟We spent a significant amount of time not just visiting each ship but also in the Toy Boat Workshop, where we DIYed our own little boats. Both children and adults were incredibly focused on crafting their boats from different sizes of wood blocks and sticks, which was an excellent experience for the kids. 🌟This museum, which combines outdoor and indoor exhibits, is perfect for summer and autumn. There are many play areas for children, and adults can also learn a lot here. Plan for at least four hours, with areas for light meals and rest. It’s a great place for a family visit. 🌟Mystic is ideal for a short trip. If you’re with children, you can split the itinerary into two days. The Mystic Aquarium is also a wonderful experience with its beluga whales that are very soothing. The town is filled with various shops, making it convenient for dining and entertainment. 🎟️ Admission: $31/adult,$27/teenagers 13-17, $21/children 4-12, free for under 3s #AmericanLife #BostonLife #BostonWithKids #BostonSurroundings #BostonFoodAndFun #BostonWeekend #BostonWeekendGetaways #BostonDayTrips #ConnecticutFoodAndFun #USAConnecticut
