Boston Surroundings | You Haven’t Lived Until You’ve Been Here!

Finally made it to the long-awaited MASS MoCA, something I’ve wanted to do for years but never had the chance. Now that I’ve been, I’m kicking myself for not coming sooner! The buildings themselves are a masterpiece of light and shadow, and each exhibition is fantastic. Art enthusiasts are in for a treat! ◻️ James Turrell’s two immersive experiences are truly incredible! Make sure to book in advance on the official website. Hindsight is for two people at a time, so I recommend going with a good friend. ❗️ Note: No photography is allowed inside James Turrell’s galleries 📷 ◼️ Even someone like me, who isn’t well-versed in contemporary art, didn’t find it boring at all! Every part is meticulously designed, and the curation is amazing. For example, the bridge connecting the buildings is a work of art in itself! ◻️ Another favorite was Stephen Vitiello’s “all those vanished engines” in the boiler house. Adding these sounds really makes you feel like you’ve stepped into a post-apocalyptic game world. ◼️ There are some cafes and eateries inside with delicious food, but some close quite early, so check the closing times. By the way, the restrooms inside James Turrell’s gallery are pretty interesting too! ◻️ I allocated 5 hours to explore, but it wasn’t nearly enough. I’ll definitely come back for more. Though it’s a bit far from Boston, it’s totally worth the trip. The photo ops are amazing! Highly recommended!! I’d be heartbroken if anyone missed this place. Nearby, you can also visit the Clark Art Institute! 🕑 Opening Hours: 10:00-17:00, Closed on Tuesdays #Boston #BostonLife #BostonFood #BostonUniversity #BostonSurroundings #BostonDayTrips #MassachusettsLife #MassachusettsMuseum #BostonSuburbs
