Boston Weekend | Self-Drive Itinerary for Acadia, Maine

🥾 Hiking Trail 1: Jordan Pond + Bubble Loop Hike (~4.5 miles) Route: Jordan Pond House (Start) ➡️ Jordan Pond Path (East) ➡️ South Bubble Trail ➡️ Bubble Rock ➡️ South Bubble Trail ➡️ Bubbles Divide Trail (Descend) ➡️ Jordan Pond Path (West) ➡️ Return to Parking Lot This is a loop trail. Hike uphill via the yellow-arrow route ()—there’s a steep section with nothing but rocky terrain, which can be tricky. After checking in at Bubble Rock, take the green-arrow route downhill—the path is much easier here, with actual stairs! Follow the blue markers on the rocks for the entire ascent and descent. Once you reach the bottom, continue walking around the pond—no need to backtrack! 🪨 🥾 Hiking Trail 2: Beehive Loop (~1.5 miles) Route: Sand Beach Parking Lot (Start) ➡️ Bowl Trail (Enter the canyon) ➡️ Beehive Trail (Climb via [metal ladders] + [metal rungs]) ➡️ Reach the summit The uphill climb on Beehive is actually a bit scary—there’s a stretch fully exposed to the sun, and one wrong look back reveals a sheer cliff. If you’re afraid of heights, proceed with caution! Pro tip: Hike up via Beehive Trail and down via Bowl Trail—the descent is much more relaxed. If heights really bother you, opt for Bowl Trail for both ascent and descent. ⚠️ 🥾 Hiking Trail 3: Great Head Trail + Ocean Path (~3.5 miles) Route: Sand Beach Parking Lot (Start) ➡️ Great Head Trail Loop (Go counterclockwise) ➡️ Return to Sand Beach ➡️ Ocean Path (Hike to Thunder Hole/Otter Cliff) ➡️ Turn back via Ocean Path ➡️ Return to Parking Lot Perfect if you want coastal views but don’t want to tackle the cliff climbing of Beehive. For an even more laid-back experience, you can just stick to Great Head Trail! 🌊 🚘 Self-Drive: Park Loop Road Route: Hulls Cove Visitor Center ➡️ Sand Beach ➡️ Thunder Hole ➡️ Monument Cove ➡️ Otter Cliff ➡️ Jordan Pond House ➡️ Cadillac Summit Road Tickets: Book in advance online! Spots for Cadillac Mountain during sunrise and sunset are super popular. Note: The time on your ticket is for ascending the mountain. Once you’re in the park, you can stay until sunset—feel free to hike the short Summit Loop Trail while you’re there! Bonus: There’s a gift shop at the summit with lots of cute souvenirs to browse. 🛍️ #AcadiaGuide #BostonWeekend #AcadiaNationalPark
