BrantfordđšđŠ | Food Guide: Nine North
While cleaning out my drafts, I stumbled upon this review of Nine North from my Laurier days. This place holds so many university memoriesâit was practically my second dining hall! The owner is incredibly sweet too. Back when I first visited as a wide-eyed international student, she surprised us with a complimentary cake đ°. Itâs a shame theyâre closed on MondaysâI missed eating here after my graduation ceremony, and who knows when Iâll get another chance. A Laurier alumâs must-order list at Nine North: đ Nine North Special Pho â The best pho Iâve ever hadâa regular bowl is more than enough. â Packed with toppings: beef balls, tendon, sliced beef, tripe, and more. đŻ Fresh Spring Rolls â All 7 varieties are delicious, but the meatball roll steals the showâchewy, slightly sweet, and so Chinese-palate-friendly. â Dip it in their magical sauceâa heavenly mix of hoisin and peanut butter (tastes like Peking duck sauce, but better!). đŠ Calamari â Tastes just like street-style fried snacks from back homeânostalgia overload! The tangy dipping sauce cuts through the richness perfectly. đ Green Curry / Red Curry â Red curry is spicier, but both are ultimate rice killers đ. đ Stir-Fried Rice â Authentic wok-fried riceâtastes just like my dadâs version! đ Pad Thai â Classic sweet-and-savory flavor, huge portion (leftovers guaranteed). đź Beef Stir-Fry (Phá» XĂ o) â Wok-fried noodles = forever legendary, though a tad oily (but hey, all good phá» xĂ o is!). đČ BĂșn BĂČ Huáșż â My nickname for it: "Vietnamese braised beef noodles"! Tender brisket, daikon soaked in broth, and rich soup (just be ready to chug water afterward). đ Nine North | Brantfordâs hidden gem for Southeast Asian comfort food. #BrantfordEats #CanadianFood #LaurierLife #WilfridLaurierUniversity #PhoLovers
