Bratislava has a rich historical heritage.

Slovakia is nestled between Austria and Hungary. Its capital, Bratislava, may not have the same fame as Prague, its former partner before the dissolution of Czechoslovakia, but it has a rich historical heritage. Bratislava was once the capital of the Kingdom of Hungary under the rule of the Habsburg Empire. Maria Theresa, known as the "Mother of Austria," held her coronation ceremony here. From the 16th to the 19th centuries, a total of 11 Hungarian kings and 9 queens were crowned in St. Martin's Cathedral and St. Francis Xavier Church.😍😍😍 This is probably the only capital city built right on a border. It takes just over an hour to drive here from Vienna. My China Mobile just reminded me that I've entered Slovakia, and in no time, I was in the Old Town city center.😁😁😁 All the main attractions are in the Old Town, north of the Danube River. You can easily visit them in two or three hours. Many people come here for a day trip or even just a half-day visit, but I stayed for two nights. I'm glad I did. It allowed me to take a leisurely nap, enjoy an unhurried afternoon tea, get a Thai massage, and wander around the market to watch performances. At Roland Fountain Square, I encountered a group from the Hungarian embassy promoting their country with music and food. The atmosphere was incredibly lively.😀😀😀 I didn't expect to find Spanish churros here, or so many places offering Thai massages (about 45 euros per hour). I also didn't expect the atmosphere to be so relaxed. The main streets of the Old Town are lined with restaurants, bars, and charming little shops. There are live house bands performing, and the handicrafts are full of cute and creative ideas. No one is overly enthusiastic in greeting you, and you won't hear "Ni hao" (Chinese for "Hello") here. You can quietly be a passerby and slowly appreciate the city. Two days of exploring and eating:❤️❤️❤️ 1. **Pressburg Bajgel Poppy Seed Bagel**: Can I really eat this? 2. **Soupculture Edible Cream Soup**: The cup is edible. You drink the soup and then eat the cup. 3. **Meštiansky Pivovar**: This century-old pub serves pork ribs and local cola. It's not bad, but not particularly delicious either. I thought the ribs were a bit too sweet, but the two dipping sauces were quite tasty. One nice thing: they don't ask how much you want to tip at checkout. Very friendly! 4. **Kormuth Confectionery**: The most beautiful afternoon tea spot. The minimum spend per person is 13 euros. A slice of cake is 9.9 euros, and drinks are 7-10 euros. Ordering separately isn't enough, but combining them costs almost 20 euros. The pink marble table and elegant, vintage tableware are lovely. The cake is surprisingly not too sweet, which is a plus. I put down my phone, listened to the music, and watched the people passing by outside the window. For a while, my mind was completely at ease. 5. **Castle with a View of the UFO Tower on the Danube**: The museum entrance fee is 14 euros. 6. **The Blue Church - Church of St. Elizabeth**: It's only open during morning and evening prayers. 7. **Michael's Gate**: The ground markers show the distances to major cities around the world. Locals believe that geographically, this place is the center of Europe. 8. **Bishop's Palace Museum**: At just 3 euros, it's the cheapest I've encountered so far. However, there aren't many rooms, and you can't take photos in the most beautiful ones. There's a free audio guide, but no Chinese option. It's a pity, considering many restaurants have Chinese menus available when you scan the QR code. The best place to get off the bus is at Most SNP (the New Bridge), which is just a 10-minute walk to the Old Town. Getting off at Nivy Shopping Center is farther away, requiring a 30-minute walk to reach the Old Town. #CollegeStudentTravel #EuropeanTrip #AroundTheWorld #AllWeAskForIsLoveAndFreedom
