Brazil·Rio de Janeiro | Beyond Mountains and Seas, More Wonders
Yes, it was during the 😷 period that I traveled halfway across the world for a business trip to Brazil. Finally, after finishing work, I took a week off in Rio—and my only feeling at that time was: I love this city so much!! Every day there was warm sunshine that made you feel cozy and a sea so blue it dazzled, with opportunities to hike for views, paraglide over the sea, laze on the beach, or dance at music festivals... Life was both comfortable and full of happiness~ After such a long time, I’ve tried my best to recall and sort out some experiences worth trying: Landmark- Christ the Redeemer, Corcovado Mountain In Rio, you can probably catch a glimpse of the Christ statue by just looking up casually—this world-famous landmark really doesn’t need much praise! You can take a small train directly to the top. It’s recommended to go later in the afternoon: from the clear sky during the day, to the sky dyed in orange-pink gradients at sunset, and then to the city lights twinkling at night, you can see it all at once, and each time has a different kind of beauty✨ Hiking- Sugarloaf Mountain (Pão de Açúcar) Don’t think you can only take the cable car! Actually, you can climb it too~ At that time, I found a local guide on Airbnb, and it took about half a day to start from the coastal path, hiking and rock climbing with ropes all the way to the top. Along the way, you can see seabirds on the rocks and small houses hidden in the trees, which offers much more fresh experiences than taking the cable car. Highly recommended! Paragliding- Pedra Bonita This one must be highly recommended again! I signed up directly at a travel agency at the foot of Corcovado Mountain, and you can also book online. The car takes you to the top of the mountain (about 500 meters above sea level), and a professional instructor takes you to fly, finally landing on São Conrado Beach. Overlooking the coastline from high altitude, with the wind whistling past your ears, that feeling of free flight is really amazing enough to make you scream!! Beaches- Copacabana / Ipanema / Leblon Rio is never short of beaches. Walking out from the city, the coastline stretches far. Copacabana is more crowded, lively like a big party; Ipanema and Leblon have fewer tourists, and as affluent areas, the beaches are cleaner and safer, so you can relax and have fun~🤯🤯 Surfing- Pedra do Arpoador A famous surfing spot next to Ipanema Beach! There are many surfing instructors and equipment rental shops along the shore, so it’s super convenient if you want to try. The waves here are big enough to be really fun. Even if you’re a beginner learning with an instructor, you can still experience the joy of "running" on the waves🏄🏻♀️ Downtown & Others Downtown is indeed a bit messy, so it’s recommended to book a guided tour. The most famous Escadaria Selarón (Selarón Stairs) is a must-visit—colorful tiles cover the steps, and you can take great photos wherever you stand, making it a must-check-in spot! There are also various palaces, museums, and old buildings, which are nice to explore with a leisurely citywalk. In the evening, you can find a bar or livehouse—Brazilians will watch football while dancing to the music, and the atmosphere is lively enough to lift the roof💃🏽 Finally, about safety: As a tourist city, Rio is generally okay! But to be honest, the public security is far from that of China, and there are occasional robberies. It’s recommended to keep a close eye on your belongings: when walking on the road or in downtown areas, put your phone, camera, and wallet in your pocket. When you reach a place that feels safe, check the surroundings first before taking them out (I was robbed on the street in São Paulo, but after being more vigilant in Rio, I didn’t encounter any accidents).✌️✌️ #SouthAmericaTravel #Brazil #RioDeJaneiro #Memories
