Brewery Near Cologne Cathedral 👍🏻

Gaffel am Dom by Cologne Cathedral Right outside Cologne’s train station is the majestic cathedral, and right next to it, you’ll find this amazing beer house! We headed straight here to enjoy some sauerkraut, crispy pork knuckle, sausages, and pork chops. 🍺 The beer is fantastic, and the apple juice is also really nice. 🍟 The sausage with fries is delicious. The sauce that comes with the sausage is so good that my friend joked, "Even a shoe dipped in this sauce would taste amazing!" 🍖 Crispy Pork Knuckle is a must-try! The skin is crunchy, and the meat is tender. Pair it with the sauerkraut to balance out the richness. The roasted potatoes on the side are super tasty too! Even though it doesn’t look like a big portion, the menu warns it's for “big eaters” – and I see why! It’s filling because the meat is so hearty and flavorful. 🥩 Pork Chops were okay, but a bit too greasy and salty for my taste. The potatoes on the side, though, were pretty good! 🍞 Bread and Butter are surprisingly delicious. Great as an appetizer or to cut through the richness of the main dishes. 🍲 Cream of Bamboo Soup wasn't to my liking, but that could just be a personal preference. The interior decor of the place is lovely, and the atmosphere is vibrant with people enjoying their beers and conversations. The staff was humorous too! When we asked for extra spoons to share our soup, the waiter, with a straight face, said, “No! I think you should feed the other two guys yourselves!” We were a bit confused at first, but then he burst into laughter and handed us two new spoons. Rating: 7.5/10. Super tasty and filling. The sausage and pork knuckle were especially good!
