Brisbane | Mountain Top Views Friendly to Car-Free Lazy People

Looking for a place not far from the city, with convenient transportation and a panoramic view of the whole city? Mount Coot-Tha Summit Lookout is definitely a hidden gem tailored for car-free people! No need to plan complicated routes. You can reach the top of the mountain by bus and easily enjoy the panoramic view of Brisbane. It's so pleasant to come here on weekends to soak up the sun and enjoy the mountain breeze that you won't want to leave~😌 📍Address: Mount Coot-Tha Summit Lookout 1012 Sir Samuel Griffith Dr, Mount Coot-Tha QLD 4066 📍Transportation: Super friendly to car-free people! Departing from King George Square, take bus 471 at Ann Street Stop 12 at City Hall to reach directly, with a total journey of about 40 minutes. Along the way, you'll pass through residential areas and small forests. Watching the scenery outside the window gradually change from urban street scenes to tree-lined mountain roads, you'll reach the top of the mountain before you know it🚌. 📍Nearby Attractions: 1⃣️ Brisbane Botanic Gardens Mt Coot-tha: Not far from the foot of the mountain, it's a plant paradise hidden in the forest🌿. The garden has tropical greenhouses, Japanese gardens and large lawns. Wandering around, you can see various exotic Australian native plants, and the air is filled with the fragrance of vegetation. 2⃣️ Simpson Falls: Suitable for those who like short-distance hiking🥾. It takes about 20 minutes to reach along the mountain trail. The waterfall is not spectacular, but the water flows gurgling into the pool, surrounded by ferns, like a hidden little secret place. You can feel a trace of coolness when coming here in summer💦. Taking advantage of the good weather on the weekend, I specially came to Mount Coot-Tha☀️. Taking the bus from the city directly to the summit viewing platform, no transfers are needed, which is very friendly for car-free people! The small pavilion on the top of the platform is the best viewing spot. Standing here, you can overlook the urban scenery of Brisbane — the high-rise buildings in the CBD, the winding Brisbane River, and even the distant coastline. The view is so broad that people can't help but exclaim😲. If you don't go to the botanical garden or hike in the forest, just visit the viewing platform, you can finish it in about half an hour, which is very friendly to lazy people💯. There is a café next to the viewing platform, selling Brunch, ice cream and other foods🍦. Many tourists sit in the outdoor seats, enjoying the scenery while eating. This time, I brought sandwiches and fruits by myself, so I didn't consume in the café. I found a bench under the shade of a tree, sat down, and had lunch in the sun, feeling very comfortable😋. Bus 471 stops at two stops on Mount Coot-Tha. If you have enough time, it is recommended to get off at Botanic Gardens Mt Coot-tha first, visit the botanical garden, and then continue to take the bus uphill. One stop will take you to the viewing platform🗺️. However, it should be noted that buses for going and returning run only once every hour. Be sure to arrange your time well and don't miss the last bus⏰. Because I went alone this time, I didn't dare to spend too much time in the botanical garden and hiking. I wandered around the summit platform and prepared to go home, always afraid of getting lost😅. Although Mount Coot-Tha is a popular surrounding attraction in Brisbane, it is still recommended that you travel in groups, which can not only take photos for each other, but also avoid accidents. In addition, there are no trees around the viewing platform to shade, and the sun is particularly strong. When going, you must do a good job of sun protection🧴. If possible, bring a hand-held small fan to cool down, otherwise you will really be sweaty all over from the sun~☀️ #Brisbane #BrisbaneLife #MountCootTha #BrisbaneSurroundings #BrisbaneBotanicGardens #Hiking #BrisbaneHiking #travel
