Brussels | A Restaurant Dedicated to Chicken Dishes 🍗🐓

Poule & Poulette (Several branches in Brussels, located in Merode, the city center, and Schuman)🐣 I remembered the name of the restaurant as soon as I saw it because I had just learned the word “poule” in my French class. Every time I passed by Merode, I would take a couple of glances at it. The menu is not complicated, with almost all dishes designed around chicken, including half/whole roasted chicken, Belgian-style cream chicken in pastry, chicken burgers, Peking Chicken, Korean fried chicken, chicken masala, etc. I wanted to try the chicken taco that was highly praised on Google, but I was told it was no longer available—seems like they change the menu from time to time.🐣 We ordered a half roasted chicken meal and Peking Chicken. The roasted chicken was juicy and flavorful, not dry, and the portion was actually quite generous. The fries in the meal were super delicious! Peking Chicken came with chicken in sweet sauce, pancakes, cucumber shreds, and radish shreds—it’s like a chicken version of Peking duck. Whoever thought of this is a genius. If you’re tired of the family-style Chinese restaurants in Brussels, this might be a new idea (though the pancakes might be from a Chinese supermarket, as they tend to harden when cold). We also chose the side of roasted carrots with hummus, which was pretty good too 😋 I’ll probably come back to this restaurant.
